THRIVE TONIC REDUCES ONE WOMAN’S HOTFLASHES

September 15th, 2008

I never cease to be amazed at the benefits that get reported to me from using THRIVE TONIC regularly. One woman told me that it has reduced her hotflashes, and, of course, she reordered a bottle saying, “I don’t dare run out of THRIVE TONIC!”

NUTRITIONAL LAW SYMPOSIUM

September 12th, 2008

I just attended the National Nutritional Law Symposium because it is only a few miles from me and I am interested in learning more about legal issues all herbalists need to know about. The room was packed with lawyers from the huge nutraceutical businesses here in Utah and around the country. The speakers were from the FDA, law firms and the governor, Jon Huntsman, gave a speach too. Particularly concerning is this proposal that weight loss products should be classified as drugs. If this goes through, more and more herbs and supplements will require FDA approval and the same kind of testing as pharmaceuticals.

CALENDULA

September 10th, 2008

I have been gathering my Calendula flowers all summer but when they dry they shrink down to such a little amount. Next year I will have to plant more. People have bought all my oil and salve at the farmer’s market for rashes, eczema, diaper rash and skin moisturizer.

HERB CLASSES BEGIN THIS TUESDAY

September 8th, 2008

HERBS FOR ALL, a six part series in medicinal herbalism begins. We cover so much information: Materia Medica, botany, harvest and preservation, ethnobotany, sacred plant meidicine, aromatherapy and we make several useful preparations that the students take home to use. The best way to understand herbal medicine is to use herbs to decide for yourself what works and how. Then you never forget that herb!

HERBS IN THE MOUNTAINS

September 3rd, 2008

Oh dear, there is already snow in the mountains and I have not gotten my fireweed yet. Gotta get up there so I can have plenty in my pharmacy for tea. It tastes great and is useful in Thrive Tonic for digestion as a mild antifungal.
