St. John’s Wort
June 28th, 2008It is an indicator of just how tough our winter was that my St. Johns Wort has not bloomed yet and it is after June 24th, St. John’s Day.

Up by Yellowstone, the flowers and herbs are gorgeous. Wild valerian, gentian, angelica and the prettiest yellow violet I have ever seen. The flyfishing was slow because of all the water in the rivers. Moose, osprey and, yes, bears!
Millcreek Herbs is back at the market and what a difference a few years make. The last time I was there, hardly anyone knew what to do with all my handcrafted herbal preparations, tinctures, formulas, teas, salves, oils. Now people seem more aware and in need of new approaches to their healthcare. My THRIVE TONIC was a big hit. It is a complex herbal formula/infusion to diminish the effects of stress and improve nutrition and vitality, http://www.thrivetonic.com. Cough and sinus formula sold well as did the arnica oil, calendula salve and nutritional tea. I will be at the market every Saturday thru September.
I have so many tinctures, salves, teas and tonics to take to the Farmer’s Market, I might as well open up a store. I keep adding more: lemon balm, cough formula, rest formula, nutritional tea, calendula salve, pinyon salve and so much more. See the list at http://www.millcreekherbs.com.
This is very fun to connect with herbalists around the world on Facebook and ning.com. Sharing information helps everyone learn more about herbs. Some of the new friends have very interesting work. I am in the final push to be ready for the Farmer’s Market next weekend. I have new handouts being made for THRIVE TONIC.
